Great tool for repairing head screw threads.

Immediate delivery. Works very well. All 14 head screw holes are cut, tapped and ready for my E46. However, we recommend longer periods. The kit worked very well!

Pros
  • We look forward to it
Cons
  • Only available in white

Perfect threads. Stronger than factory thread.

They are expensive, but worth the money. This really is the best way to repair threads in aluminium. Don't forget to get the faucet manual as well. He does everything right and at eye level. I wouldn't use anything else for thread recovery.

  • Useful not only for the intended purpose

Great tool for tools and equipment

Great tool, much better than other aluminum thread replacement methods. It is easy to use if you follow the instructions carefully. With a large size like this, it may be easier to resize the hole with a step reamer to get the hole perfectly straight if you can't get the job done on the drill press.

  • Great Price

Slightly more expensive in my opinion but great product

Bought for my 1984 Chevy CUCV, the starter had broken out of the block and had damaged threads. That saved me a lot of time. It takes a bit of drilling, but it's worth it in the end. Truck is back on the road with 0 starter thread issues. We recommend

industry standard!

Timesert sets the industry standard for thread repair. I've also used Helicoil and Recoil which are spring style thread repair kits and they have their place (much cheaper) but if you need to economize a bit and need it to last, solid Timesert inserts are the only way. go. Inserts are available in various lengths for reduced clearance applications. Far better than any other thread repair I have seen and I have been repairing threads for over 35 years.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Can't remember

Very efficient! to Thread Repair Kits

Repaired some severed engine mount bolt threads, saving my aluminum engine block. The kit is not cheap but orders of magnitude better than spiral inserts as it is a strong steel insert with rigidity. The repair is likely to be stronger than the stock threads as the block is aluminum and the aluminum threads in the block are now basically a bolt size larger. An optional tap guide is highly recommended when doing field repairs without a router or drill press to get the tap started straight.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • No paint required

It's a lifesaver when you break a screw in an important place. For me it was the cylinder head of a Caterpillar 3126b diesel engine, trying to change the exhaust manifold gaskets 7 of 12 screws ripped off. I stupidly tried Easyouts, clicked on one of them and then found this one. I drilled through the centers of the studs, starting with a small pilot drill and then using more and more until the hole was just the right size. It was more difficult for the one who broke the easy exit! Countersunk…

Pros
  • Slim design

  • Weight

NOT for starting blocks.

This set works great. I made the mistake of ordering it for my 6.5 liter Detroit diesel with M10x1.5 starter holes and later discovered that they make a kit specifically for the starter holes as the starter bolts are NOT regular quality bolts : They have a grooved area that needs to be minimized starter movement. The recommended Time-Sert starting hole set for the M10x1.5 starter is #1380 and differs in that it has a step drill to make a pocket for the knurled sleeve (included) for the knurled…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Sad packaging
