I took a chance with this lock and hoped it would be solidly built. and I shouldn't have done it. My bike was stolen yesterday and the lock was forgotten. I'll post a photo - there was no sawdust or other evidence of the use of anything other than blunt force to pick the lock. It only seemed broken in the lock itself.

This chain is not too flimsy and can connect up to 3 of our bikes together if we strategically string them together. The lock, although plastic, is easy to manipulate, the numbers go smoothly. My only concern is that the numbers are plastic and can come loose and only time will tell if they hold up. Overall we are happy with this product and will use it to lock the bike over coffee but maybe not all day while at work.

pay 2 dollars extra get 8mm. The chain is very thin. it weighs about the same as my cable lock, only more. To be honest it looks like a $10 padlock. This lock makes me feel more secure than a cable, but not a landslide. I will keep and use it, but I will buy a thicker one. Besides that. bright side, the dial works. set the code perfectly. Edit: I said go for 8mm, but if it's easy to cut don't forget to go for 6mm as well. It's easier to drive. Your call.

We use this on a kids bike at school and so far it has been a great lock for the purpose (for the money spent). I was a little worried it was too long for a kids bike, but it fits well through the rear wheel, frame and bike stand without too much play.
