Comparable to 3m hand tool block

Comparable to a very expensive 3m block I have used before. This one isn't as easy to hold as the 3m, but that may be because I've been using 3m blocks for 15 years. The quality of the finished sanded primer is just as good, a nice even surface with no cut edges. An added bonus for me is the round flat block which I really like. I highly recommend these blocks.

An indispensable tool for woodworking

Great idea. I have lots of 5" random orbital sanding discs. These blocks make it easy and convenient to use the same discs to touch up edges and detail where a random orbital would be too aggressive. The blocks are quite "spongy" so lie a lot comfortable to hold and can be used for curved surfaces, but strong enough for wide flat surfaces.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not intimidating and very easy to use

I've never sanded anything in my life and found this to be a very convenient start. I used it to sand down an old table before repainting it. It worked very well! I do wish I had gloves on when I did this, however, because the sandpaper wrapped around the side cut my thumb a little. Nothing crazy but thought I'd share my experience! I definitely recommend it for small projects like mine.

  • Great for a small home

Why didn't I buy them earlier?

There's nothing worse than struggling with those old school rubber sanding blocks with sharp pins you have to use to bend the paper - the rubber is always so hard you can't even get the paper in. Notch over pins. Then you should try to stretch the paper. Much luck! I've never managed to get a tight fitting piece of sandpaper in both. It's sooo easy. Just take the sanding disc you already have on hand that matches your random orbit sander and simply stick it to the underside. No more loose…

Good sanding blocks

I am very happy with it. The foam is dense yet pliable, providing just enough "spring" to allow it to be used on curved and flat surfaces without losing its integrity. The velcro is high quality and VERY securely fastened. They will last for many years. If I could make any changes it would be the finger grooves on the "mouse" shaped block. They're not in the natural position for your fingers when sanding, and they end up getting in the way most of the time. The grinder still works well but it…

My second set, they are great!

Bought because my father-in-law borrowed my first set. That was 3 months ago lol. So I told him to keep them and bought a new set. These things are amazing! Grip is excellent as the foam padding is light and comfortable to hold. The velcro keeps the sanding discs very secure. I stopped buying records a few years ago and only buy records now. I use an orbital sander almost exclusively. I used to wrap the wheel around a small 1x3 or 1x2 for hand sanding. It's way better than that. This 2 pack…

Best since bread slicing

I bought these because I saw them in several carpenter youtube videos. This is the PERFECT solution if you already have a random orbit sander with this size sandpaper. I have an entire inventory of this sandpaper in different grits, so when I need to sand by hand I just grab one of these pens and go. I use the "mouse" shaped sanding wheel the most, as it covers both the bottom and sides to get into crevices, and the round wheel is great for sanding flat objects. I use them on every project I…
