This brush pen is quite acceptable and even accepted in certain circles to be called a brush pen. I bought my brush for calligraphy courses in 2017 at the Peredvizhnik chain of stores for 550-570 rubles apiece. I chose the most classic: with black mascara inside. On the Internet on different sites, the cost of such a brush pen ranges on average from 400 to 800 rubles apiece and may depend on the color of a particular replacement cartridge. Judging by the manufacturer's website, there are as…

Pros
  • Compact, fits comfortably in the hand, good bristle quality, strong cap, you can change cartridges
Cons
  • It is inconvenient to rinse the inside when changing cartridges, the cost of the brushpen itself and its cartridges

I studied graphic design and am an artist with a passion for illustration, handwriting and calligraphy. I decided to try the new brush pens and settled on these two options: Tombow Fudenosuke and Pentel Sign Pen. At first I liked the drawing pen for its smoothness and slightly thicker line. Both offer the blackest color and excellent liquid delivery. But one day I spilled some water and my Pentel scribbles spread all over the page while my Tombow scribbles stayed perfectly color stable. It made

Great way to try both pens and see what works for you

I'm new to lettering so bought this one to try. I've also tried several other pens and these are the only ones I can write with (due to inexperience no doubt). So for the nobility painting lettering this is a great place to start. Everyone is different, but for now I prefer a hard brush to a soft one. That may change as I gain experience, but now I have more control with a stiff brush. I've had one of these before and have already made good progress with the lettering. I've watched several…

Great for learning brush writing!

I've just started learning how to write letters with a brush and these pens are great for that! I started out with the Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, Primary, 10-Pack but was having a hard time getting used to holding the grip while thinking about making subtle upward strokes and hard downward strokes due to their very soft marker tip . I thought I'd get something more pen-like for brush lettering so I could reduce movement and that's when I came across the Tombow Fudenosuke pens. Well if…

Pros
  • Pens and leads
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
