Great for quick colors

I paint and paint a lot and sometimes I find it impractical to carry a box of colored pencils/watercolours just to apply a few basic colours. I've wanted good markers for a long time, but I definitely wasn't willing to invest in one. I bought these (and the portrait ones) because they were on sale and wow they are really great! I love how quick and easy it is to add some value to my sketches to make them look more polished. Really convenient to throw it in your bag for painting in coffee shopโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of choice

Pros: I love working with water-soluble markers and they're on par with other brands like Koi, Fabrr-Castell, Copic, Artist Choice and PrismaColour. Even on fluffy lined paper, they don't show through, they're smooth and painterly when applied with a wet brush. I smudged some of the work done the first night with this set + 2 wet W/K brushes (#2). thick, IMO) and the brush tip, on the other hand, has a nice tip with a bit of curvature. Rigid on the tip side and long on the brush side. Theโ€ฆ

Exceeded my expectations

I use WN watercolor markers extensively and was interested in this group of gray brush markers to complement. The range is very good and includes light warm gray N89 and almost lilac gray N60N15 and N25 are very similar. They settle very evenly when washed out and you get very thin lines with a brush and very thin dots with a blunt end. The blend brush included in the kit works really well and is actually self-cleaning (don't know how) which keeps the grays clean when blending/switching fromโ€ฆ

  • Heavy duty nylon brush tip for fine, medium or heavy strokes

Good markers for a small budget!

I recently bought a Grayscale Tombow Dual Brush. . I want to use both techniques. I chose these markers. I love the fact that you can have a double brush, a fine point on one side and a soft brush on the other. Advantages: - Double brush. - Includes blender. - Good price. - Good size, it's a long pencil. - Feels good. Cons: - If you have two layers, the second one will bleed. - There are some colors that are very similar. - Instead of numbers, they should show the amount of gray. Markersโ€ฆ

Difficult to learn but worth it

I bought these just before October, which was the perfect time to use them in the national Inktober contest (where you draw something in ink every day throughout the month). I was looking for a way to easily blend my ink drawings without resorting to watercolors or expensive Prismatic paints and this is a good middle ground. They're difficult to use at first because of the lines they create when you superimpose strokes, but once you've taken the time to practice on a few drawings, they're aโ€ฆ
