Excellent because it was made in Japan.

The quality of this tool is excellent. There is so much junk made in china because they copy all legitimate brands to put excellent companies out of business It has all become a race to the bottom for quality. I was so tired of wasting money I found "Cultivate", a Mark Cuban development, that tells me where products were really made. It is a Chrome extension or an IOS App. In fact Cultivate is the only reason I ever use Chrome as a browser. It immediately identified the country of origin for…

Pros
  • It says made in Japan but doesn’t look or feel like it. The spring loses easily
Cons
  • They are not suitable for heavy-duty pruning tasks

Quality for cost: my feedback

It is as advertised : seems to be made of good steel, fit and finish is very good , is worth the price. It is a little hard to hold due to smooth covering on handles but my hands are on the smaller side. They work very nicely !

Pros
  • Superior handling allows for restricted cutting even in tight spaces
Cons
  • The shears can be difficult to use in tight spaces

Made in Japan? Things don't add up

This product is listed as "Made in Japan" and the price seemed too good to be true, but a number of reviews vouched for it. I decided to take a chance and order one knowing I could return it if something was clearly off - and something was from the second it arrived at my home. The product arrived in a package covered in Japanese lettering. However, being a native Japanese speaker I can tell you that the grammar is 100% incorrect. Whoever generated the wording on the package DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO

Pros
  • Suitable for a variety of pruning tasks, from trimming small plants to shaping large trees
Cons
  • The shears are not suitable for pruning young or delicate plants

WOW! Great value for the price!

Actually, great value for any price! Since it is so easy to lose pruning shears, I am thinking of buying two more sets rather than pay triple for one supposedly really good quality one.

Pros
  • ‎1
Cons
  • The shears do not cut cleanly, leaving ragged edges on branches

It works as promised!

Using it to prune my backyard grape vines. Works absolutely nicely! Much better than the previous one from the local Home Depot which broke in 2 after one season.

Pros
  • ‎1 Inches
Cons
  • The shears require frequent oiling to function properly

They cut cleanly - my new review

These feel and look very well made. I pruned a lemon tree with them and they cut the branches cleanly, without crushing them. The value for these pruners is phenomenal as well. I bought these pruners as an alternative to the big name brand and am very happy I did.

Pros
  • The 8-inch size is perfect for trimming both plants and larger tree branches
Cons
  • The shears can become dull over time and require professional sharpening

They are made in Japan

These are well executed and cut superb. The only issue that will arise sooner or later, is that you will lose the spring in the heat of battle. An extra spring is provided, but so what, you will eventually lose that too. I lost the spring on mine the first day when tossing them into my garden cart and they hit the side and fell to the ground. I simply put a dab of 5 minute epoxy on both ends of the spring and reinserted it. Problem was solved!. I can't believe this wasn't done at the factory…

Pros
  • ‎Bypass
Cons
  • The shears are not suitable for trimming bonsai trees

These work so well!

I'd always bought fairly cheap shears and knew I wanted better ones. But I didn't want to spend too much. These are perfect and I use them all the time. Very sharp and handy!

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • The shears are not suitable for amateur gardeners due to their complexity

Japan made never fails.

Bolt/nut adjustment for accurate cut. Can also take apart to sharpen blade (rarely). Highly recommended, in fact, just bought another just to have around.

Pros
  • pruning dead hard black berry bush stalks up to 3/8 inch in diameter.
Cons
  • The blades can easily become dull over time

Just as good as I expected, which is to say, very good indeed

I have never been disappointed with a cutting tool which was made in Japan, from knives to nail clippers to saws. This pair of shears is also a winner.Very sharp implement, very smooth action, good ergonomics (although everyone's hand is different - I tend to wear a size 8.5 or 9 glove). I originally thought the smooth handles might be a bit slippery (but could always use plasti-dip or whatever if I needed to), but they actually provide a very nice grip despite the fairly smooth finish. They…

Pros
  • Gardening & Lawn Care
Cons
  • The shears can be difficult to clean after use

Made in Japan in my review

Excellent secateurs for garden pruning. I use these for my fine pruning and grafting. I use my other pruners for landscape pruning , although you could use these for all your pruning needs . They arrived razor sharp . The blade is removable for sharpening. Heavy duty release button .8 inches large with looks like a grey enamel finish on the handles. The grip is comfortable and ergonomic. They came with a extra spring, I followed another reviewers advice and epoxied the spring in place at the…

Pros
  • Another quality Japanese tool, Very nicely made, worth the money.
Cons
  • The blades are not durable and can break easily

Sharp and comfortable

I wish I could find an entire line of these cutters. I am a retired, avid Gardener and came across these looking for stainless steel cutters. I am in love with them. They came sharp enough where I didn't have to work on them as soon as I got them. I keep them blades down in a bucket of course sand to ensure they stay clean and moisture free. I live on a half acre and am in the yard daily working on all of my gardens and these are the first tool I put in my garden apron. They even came with a…

Pros
  • Delivers clean and precise cuts, promoting healthy growth and development in plants
Cons
  • The handle can cause blisters or calluses on the hands during extended use

Incredibly strong and sharp

It cut straight through hardened 1 inch thick boxwood wood. Amazing. Such a quality tool. I think it will last me a lifetime.

Pros
  • ‎Red
Cons
  • The shears can cause blisters on the hands when used for extended periods

Great tool but the spring get lost easy.

It’s a great tool for gardening but the spring get loose easy. I bought two because I loved the concept and maneuverability of it.If the seller read my message, please let me know from where I can buy another spring, I lost them both. I give 4 start because of spring but the pruning shears is well made.Thank you.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • The blades can become sticky over time, causing them to jam

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Smooth,effortless cuts.

I've always had name brand pruners most of my gardening years (Bahco, Felco, etc) but this one is by far the most well designed pair I've used in recent memory. I volunteer in an Arboretum and am usually tasked with pruning chores. Although I've seldom had an issue with my secateurs, these are now my go to pair. Came sharpened and ready to work.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain, ensuring long-lasting performance for years to come
Cons
  • The locking mechanism can sometimes be challenging to operate
