Not the trendiest aquarium thermometer but it does the job well and is very cheap. It worked fine for a few months then everything started to fail. The first was the power button; Next came the ad. It started giving erroneous readings compared to the heater setting and instant readout. I ended up losing a few fish because I trusted this heater which was my fault. A "finger test" was necessary, at least a few fish would have saved immediately. i think i'm done I'll use something else and not rely on the electronics. . . but what? I have bought several of these over the past few years. Probably 6-7 total. What I found is that the quality of them is really spotty. The first batch of four I bought worked great (I have them on four separate tanks). After a few years, some of them started reading 4-5 degrees lower. It's huge.
