Great product. I looked at many different versions and read many reviews. It takes me days or weeks to buy tools because I don't want to have any regrets or go through a return process. UPS is unreliable when it comes to receiving returns. If they come to the wrong door, they won't come back a second time and leave you a shipping label. In any case, this product is very well made. Feels and looks like more expensive versions. It just occurred to me that I should make a leather pouch for him.

I use them as wing dividers for leather work. They're a little big for what I need, but not useless. They are easy to use and very durable; The tips aren't too sharp, but sharp enough to leave marks on the skin. My criticism is that the tips aren't quite perfectly aligned (they're offset vertically by about half a millimeter or less). These are fairly simple devices used when precision is required. fully closed, fully open and all points in between. My arms weren't even remotely aligned. the pink plastic I bought for my daughter in the school supplies department of our small town grocery store was better aligned than this "toolmaker's precision compass". And it only cost $1.99. Don't waste your money on this compass. Unless you want to make crooked alignment tools.
