    Cast aluminum with through hole

    I needed this for a job: drilling a new oil fill hole in cast aluminum valve covers. Stick a hole punch in the cover and let this hole saw work its magic. In just 30 seconds I had a clean 1-1/8" diameter hole. I doubted it would actually work, but it cut through butter like a hot knife. I also got it from Revain for about $2 Dollars less than bought at Home Depot and Lowes.

    Don't waste your money and time on this.

    I have started to cut a hole in the soft plastic sheet. This tool had made about five revolutions when the drill suddenly broke in half, causing the hole saw to roll across the surface of my board and damage it. A closer look reveals that the drill is poorly hardened or injection molded, making it too brittle for this application.

    Perfectly drills holes in wooden doors

    Other reviews confirm the quality of this saw. I just want to add that I was personally confused and concerned reading the descriptions of various brands of hole saws as to whether they came with an arbor (arbor shank with center drill). This one fits. I bought this to fit a large peep hole in a solid wood door and it does the job perfectly. I would advise against drilling all the way through on one side as this can split the wood on the other side. Stop when the drill first pierces the hole…
