🔨 Marples High Impact Chisel 1819360 - Essential Chisel Tool Enhancing Durability Review

I use this chisel more than anyone else. I use it when making knife walls, cleaning and planing tenons and tongues or fine flush cutting. The extra width and weight come in handy for reducing errors and getting more precise lines. I like the large rubber grips and the strike plate that connects to the chisel. I feel like I have a lot of things under control.

Choosing steel for cutting tools is a difficult balance. Steel that is too hard stays sharp longer, but is more difficult to resharpen. Too soft and the tool dulls quickly, but it's easier to change a usable edge. Marples got it right as always. A pleasure to work with, strong enough to take a beating and easy to resharpen. This is a purchase.

I don't know. We bought a 2" chisel from Lowe here and it broke after a few days. They brought it back, bought another one and the same thing happened. The tool has to withstand heavy impact. This one performed much better than Lowe's but unfortunately this one broke.that you hammer was simply pressed and the chisel itself was assembled in the handle section.It didn't take long to destroy it.The Irwin, although made from one piece of metal and fitted with a large metal mallet,that the section…
