Managed to remove the nut which was destroyed. I couldn't find another outlet to grab and it grabbed hard. The only possible downside is that it grabbed so hard that once removed from the van it was difficult to unscrew the nut - not really a downside, this tool worked great!

Bought these to remove cam sprocket bolts on my Subaru engine project. They just wouldn't have enough bite to get the job done. I will admit that these screws are notoriously difficult to remove. Maybe they would work on a rounded hex bolt. But on the hex heads of the screws I had to remove they just wouldn't hold. Even if a smaller size was chosen. I ended up having to weld a nut to remove it. Waste of time and money for my purposes.
