Heats up quickly, and that's maybe the only plus. Not smooth at all, pulls hair out when straightened. It doesn't fix the hair well, you have to hold the end to make the hair smooth. Save money, this thing is as good as a $20 drugstore flat iron.

Love Hot Tools products! I had to replace my old iron due to a short in the cord. I have thick hair so the flat iron needs to be heated sufficiently to straighten my hair. This one does the job and heats up quickly. My only complaint is that I feel like it tugs on my hair a bit when I use it. I could do too much hair at once. Overall good.

I am soooo disappointed with this purchase. Everyone has told me how good hot tools are and value for money! NO! Although it straightens my hair in 2 passes and heats up very quickly, its workmanship is very poor so I can only pray it doesn't stop working soon. Receive the straightener on 8th November 26th February it's just frying on a hot melted piece of my hair it's its own plastic and won't anymore turned on. I've never had an iron do anything like this before I cried in earnest as I looked at the clump of my melted hair stuck to the iron, then realized the plastic holding the metal plate had even melted and that the light bulbs on the irons went out. I am devastated.

I've had my old iron for years and have searched long and hard for a replacement. From the moment I took it out of the box I was impressed. It heats up quickly, is easy to use, feels smooth, feels good in the hand and doesn't snag when I run it through my hair. It didn't take me long to straighten my hair and I have naturally curly hair.
