Product works as intended. Very basic but tonal push and it's definitely waterproof (do not submerge in water). I didn't use it during 3 days of heavy rain in Florida and it still keeps my battery going. I have used it for 6v batteries, 12v motorcycle batteries and car batteries. Also gives you a constant reading of what your load is on.

I bought this unit to keep a group 27 battery charged for my gate opener. Works well, easy to set up. However, since installing it I've had 3 instances where the unit has reset to 6v instead of 12v (probably after a power outage) which I only discovered after the battery had drained to the point where the gate automatically opened . I will be remapping this charger and replacing it with a 12V only unit.

I think they sent me a broken one but some people here in the reviews have had the same experience so I have to return it and choose a better brand (possibly Schumacher) . Let me first say that this TOPAC 3.5/7A 6/12 volt automatic car battery charger works well and seems to be doing a good job. BUT it's far from automatic, it doesn't work for maintenance or charging. If there is a possibility of power failure, it will not restart or restart when power is restored. It must be switched on again manually! This charger works great. The only thing I wish was that the charging port was the same type as most other wall mounts. This uses a unique connector so using it with extenders or dual battery splitters that use a standard connector will not work with it. I'll probably switch it to these connectors one day.
