These drill bits did the job of drilling 1/8" thick flat stock. Material removal and chip formation were good. In my experience other drill bits like HSS would break.

I had to drill holes in the steel I-beams in my basement so I could attach the 2x4's with self-tapping screws. These drill bits do their job well and don't dull quickly.

I have used this twice as this product cuts good through chips on both steel and aluminum cutting edges. Much better than my cheap other drills. Now when I start making a pilot hole for a larger hole I use cobalt as much as possible.
