I am ordering this to warn me if we have a power outage in inclement weather so I know to check the wood stove for emergency heat. However, I will use it for freezers all year round.

Appropriate volume: We put in a master bath so we don't jump out of bed like in The Boat. on a generator, so you don't know anything about battery life. Works as described, unlike the cheaper ones we've tried before from this site.

It's loud enough to immediately notify the whole house of a life-threatening situation. I see where some are complaining about it not resetting after power is restored OR it may be a false alarm etc. But one thing is for sure, if someone is in the house and this thing explodes they will hear it and react.
