I bought cleaning cloths for the central vacuum cleaner in my house which is about 10 years old. In the three years that I have lived here, I have never cleaned the hoses of the vacuum system and do not know the history of the previous cleaning. After running the garments through the system, I examined each fabric and found that each had a small amount of dust, dirt, and tiny pebbles. It's hard to tell how much the suction has improved. Our hose turned out to have a leak so replacing/upgrading the hose masked that aspect. They definitely got rid of a lot of dust and dirt from the vacuum tubes though. Best of all, one of these immediately took on a much more pleasant smell through each of the 6 air intakes in our two story house and in my workshop in the garage where the vacuum is located.
