Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

Satisfied with the disc. Quiet, inaudible, does not rattle, does not crackle. When transferring 700GB from an old disk, it warmed up to 46 degrees, in normal use it keeps 26 degrees. Tested with different utilities - all indicators are excellent. I will take more! Made in August 2022.

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is reasonable.

Bought the boxed version, rumor has it they have better quality control. In the aluminum case from Orico, you can hear the operation of the disk at a distance of 5 meters at night. Keep in mind the thickness is 9.5mm. I will use this disk as a cold backup. For portable file storage and OTG-drive, SSD is still better. Its pros: - Theoretical volume 2 TB; - Relatively quiet; - Theoretical time between failures is 600 thousand hours, but time will tell; - Starts via OTG without additional power…

Good product, I recommend that you try it.

I took it in order to make something like a NAS out of a router (Zyxel Keenetic Giga III). The main thing that influenced the choice was an article on niks, in which it was written that he was without SMR, however, according to official documents, he was with SMR. But this does not greatly affect the work, because Toshiba, in comparison with WD, organized this process more competently, using a rather large buffer) At the end of the comment is an excerpt from the official Toshiba docs (google…

    Pros
    • 1. The absence of strong complaints in the reviews (survived .). 2. Dimensions. 3. Volume. 4. Normal size buffer. 5. Price.
    Cons
    • 1. On the top cover there is a trace of the fact that it was strongly compressed, apparently a robot on the conveyor, this is visible only in reflected light. 2. Toshiba's marketing shoves everywhere a disc image that is different from the real thing. Well, at least from an engineering point of view and build quality there are no questions.

    Tivo Bolt Upgrade, Easy

I upgraded my Tivo Bolt HD 500GB to a 2TB HD model, it was easy and now I've increased the storage capacity from 75 hours to 315 hours. When it comes to updating Tivo Bolt, there are some great videos online to help you. Screw size Torx T10. This disk was about 2mm larger than the original 500GB disk. it still fits with no problems. The only problem I had was connecting the fan cable to the new hard drive. I used double sided tape. Finally, no formatting was required on my Tivo Bolt. If you…

    Pros
    • Easy to use
    Cons
    • May cause injury

    Failed after 5 months

This CD was purchased to upgrade a Playstation 4 Slim. The drive worked fine for a little over 4 months and then forced the PS4 to boot into safe mode a few times. After two hours of trying to fix the problem, I replaced it with the original 1TB PS4 drive and everything works fine. The warranty is too short to use as this drive only lasts about a month after the warranty expires.

Very low heat dissipation with full transfer Write 1 TB

    - Low heat dissipation by filling the entire drive at the same time. It is impressive. Fast reaction time. Similar to 3.5" WD blue 5400rpm. But it feels a lot cooler. No noise as far as I can tell - I'd say it's better than Seagate and at least on par with Western Digital - I I've never had a Toshiba failure in all these years, I can." . You can't talk about Seagate, Samsung or even Western Digital (old WD models). Samsung tends to be the worst in my experience, with Seagate second worst.

    Pros
    • There's something to it
    Cons
    • Security

I like this drive - Storage

In my humble opinion. Toshiba makes the best drives for laptops. It's quiet and fast, and fits nicely in a standard-height laptop compartment.

    Pros
    • Like all others
    Cons
    • Sad hardware

    Perfect internal hard drives

I only entrust my data (with hard drives) to two manufacturers. Toshiba and Western Digital. I bought this hard drive because I wanted to add storage to my Mac Mini. I upgraded the SSD and HDD I installed in it. This hard drive is the perfect replacement for the included 500GB hard drive.

    Meets expectations

Everything works perfectly, I was very happy to receive it in 2 days although the estimated time was 4-5. the only thing I can say is negative. It may have been the packaging, it made me feel like it had been used, although well protected with tight bubble wrap, the plastic sleeve it was in was open with no seal or tape when it slipped out . Thankfully, as I usually do in cases like this, I had it over the bed so there was a fluffy minimal bounce, but it's still not good for the peace of mind…

    Pros
    • Few competitors
    Cons
    • Functionality

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

I took it to replace the second disk in my laptop. I tested the Victoria surface. Graphically just a zebra. Even 20 year old wheels look much better. I think this is a consequence of the SMR recording method. When copying several files to it, larger than 3 GB, the recording speed drops from 80 Mbps to 5-10. In the task manager, you can see that the disk usage is 100%. I think that the write speed of the SMR disk itself is low, and when the 128 MB buffer does not pull out, the disk simply goes…

    Pros
    • Quiet, cool (max 34°C), low consumption (max 1.65 W)
    Cons
    • Unstable write speed.

The right product for me, the price suited me.

I use a week. I bought it for a stationary (desktop) computer as a quiet, cold non-system drive. The computer itself is very quiet, so I wanted a quiet hard drive, but the toad presses to buy an SSD (hard drives of this volume now cost inadequate money). Therefore, the choice fell on this hard drive. The reviews write that it crackles - yes and no. If you use it in a metal box or "hard" fix it on the metal cover of the system unit, then yes, you can hear it when reading / writing. But if you…

    Pros
    • Inexpensive compared to other models of 2.5 "hard drives for 2 TB. Acceptable performance, 128 MB cache. Well packaged (carton box plus thick bubble bag). Pretty quiet, although that's to be expected for a laptop HDD.
    Cons
    • Under a typical load (for example: downloading a movie ~ 10 GB from torrents at a speed of 100 Mbps), it heats up rapidly. This is quite unexpected for such a form factor (for more details, see the comment).
