Works intermittently

We bought this to replace a DVD player and VCR that were destroyed in a flood. It worked well for the first 9 months but has steadily decreased since then. During DVD playback, it pauses as if reading the disc, then skips ahead - and the longer you watch the DVD, the more frequent and longer the pauses become. I am very disappointed with this and believe it was a waste of money.

Ha! This device is unreliable

After reading several reviews over a few months I reluctantly bought this device because it had the features I needed. I didn't want to buy it due to the difficulties that many reviewers have expressed here in terms of setting up and getting the picture. I had no trouble setting it up and it used to work fine. However, we've had it for several months and the unit doesn't recognize DVDs. I was reading online reviews of other Toshiba DVD products today and it seems their products are giving up…

Short happy life

Well, it didn't take me long to read the first customer review to realize that my problem wasn't unique. Problem? The DVD player, after working normally, just stopped reading discs. Boom, just like that, it's over, and that's all she wrote! It worked perfectly one night, the next night the message "NO DISK". Of course I've tried a few discs, even an optical lens cleaner, but it doesn't work, I'm dead. The player was bought at the end of August 2005. I'm the only user and I'm a neat Type A guy…

Carefully!

I don't actually own this machine but I'd like to add a few comments that I hope people will find helpful. First of all I would like to confirm that there have been a number of problems with Toshiba DVD players. We had one that was really bad. It leaked everywhere and got worse over time - eventually to the point where it became unusable. In fact, we've received notification that a class action lawsuit has been initiated over defective Toshiba DVD players - several different models have been…

  • Lots of positive vibes

  • No power
