Salt box is ideal for keeping table salt, gourmet salts, spices or favorite seasonings close at hand on your countertop. Smart design with swivel lid; closes firmly with magnetic lock and opens easily with just one hand for quick access to spices while cooking. Great for use in other areas of the home too: a handy little storage box for jewelry, office supplies, dog treats and more. A beautiful blend of green slate, acacia and bamboo looks elegant on any counter or tabletop. Easy care: simply hand wash or wipe with a damp cloth; do not soak in water or wash in the dishwasher.

Lid does not close fully

Looks like the picture, looks good. The stain came off when I wiped it to make sure it was clean to apply the salt. I had to rub many times before the minimal stain came off. Another big problem is that the lid doesn't close tightly. The magnetic clasps in the lid and bezel don't match, so there's always an edge and it wicks away moisture. Too bad because it looks great, it's just not well made.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

But well done. on Salt & Pepper

I wanted to buy a salt shaker and I really liked the unusual design and appearance of this one. Very good workmanship and overall I would give it 5 stars except the smell of acacia wood was very strong. I was afraid to put my expensive Maldon flakes of sea salt in it for fear the salt would absorb the smell of the wood. So I filled it with baking soda, leaving the lid partially open and stirring the baking soda from time to time. Finally, after two months the smell has decreased significantly…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance

This bamboo salt pan looks great on its own until you really want to use it. When you open the lid, an incredibly strong and heavy burning smell escapes - this smell is so strong that it sticks to your hands. I'm confused as to how it was approved and published. It looked charred inside to give it a specific look. As a project, I bought some sandpaper to try and remove enough wood to reduce the smell, and then used baking soda and white vinegar (look for tips on how to remove the burnt wood…
