1.28 GPF that will replace the ST743S#01 tank for Toto Drake.

I had a cracked tank on my Toto Drake and had to order a replacement but the ST743S#01 that fits my cracked tank could not be shipped to my area. I did a search and found that California no longer allows the sale of toilets or 1.6 GPF tanks. To get a replacement tank I had to order this model, TOTO ST743E #01, which is 1.28 GPF versus 1.6 GPF. CT743C#01. The main difference lies in the mounting of the damper. The handle and inflation valve look the same, but otherwise the screw pattern, tank…

I was happy to see that user error caused the crack because .

I broke my 5 year old tank after tightening it up when it started leaking. When I installed the new one I discovered that my old tank was not installed properly and this is causing both that Leak as well as the crack. The installer only used one washer and nut per bolt, not two. (One set of nuts and washers holds the rubber gasket against the tank (check for leaks) and the other secures the tank to the base.) Well, maybe confession is good for the soul. Who knows? Two weeks ago I noticed that the toilet cistern in our bathroom was a bit loose where it attaches to the toilet. It wobbled slightly when you sat down (yes, I was the "one" at 6-3 and 220 pounds).
