These screens aren't what they used to be. They are made cheaper and are not pictured! The bases are thinner and don't remain as stable as before. They changed the hand holders to sharp edges and it hurts when you hold them. It's amazing they are NOT! They are not as pictured and I would look elsewhere to find better ones! DO NOT BUY!

I bought this colander because my legs broke off and I need a colander with small holes to process foods like rice, spaghetti and small pasta. That works great. It can easily handle 1 pound of cooked pasta. I once drained 2 pounds of pasta but I pushed it. He was ready to squirt but I caught him just in time. I've searched and searched for a larger screen with small holes but nobody seems to be making one. I love it, but I won't try draining 2lb pasta again.

I received the screen in a soft large envelope with no protective packaging, not a box. The Colander's base collapsed, distorting its shape. I was able to push out the dents, but I should NOT have received the screen in this condition. The "stainless steel" used is VERY THIN compared to other screens I have. I wanted this for small holes but was disappointed with the durability of the construction. Wrapped was definitely better given the easily deformable design.

Good stainless steel strainer that drains very well due to the many holes. Seems to be well made and should last a long time. Even the largest size is smaller than my old colander which is fine for my use but if you need to drain a large amount of food you can split it into two batches. I bought this colander based on reviews and also recognized the brand BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT thing was from the description which said the rice would not fit through the holes - While this is a good one Replacement for the broken mesh and I've used it to wash rice before cooking.
