2020 CMW Toyota Navigation SD Card for USA and Canada - Latest Update (86271-0E072) Review

Pros: The map worked and a pretty decent update. Cons: It's not 2020 as described in the listing. This is from April 2019. I will keep it because I need it but it is not what I was told I would buy.

Took the SD card to the Toyota dealer to update the software in the car. The service department informed me that the card was damaged and unusable. The year is wrong too. It's much older. The identification numbers are valid, but the dates are not.

Doesn't work. Tried twice. It took forever and then when the "installation" finished it came up with an error message saying the software was missing. GPS doesn't work at all. Go to the dealer, swallow the price, and buy something that works.

Super easy. Make sure your Toyota head unit software is up to date. Toyota safety boots…. So search and update via USB. I just inserted this card before I started 14 4Runner and 15 Highlander. Run... wait 15-45 seconds and the maps will come to life. Big difference in detailed area coverage and detailing in parks and shopping areas.

The chip was easy to install. The on-screen instructions were clear. My low score is because this is NOT a 2020 update. I can't say exactly when it will be covered, but there are locations and roads built in the Raleigh, NC metropolitan area between 2018 and 2019 that don't show up in the navigation. It's a bit like a lure and a switch. It's an improvement over the 2017 dates my car came with, but not by much.

The dealer wanted $220 for the same card, the guy there told me if I could find it elsewhere I should quote an overpriced price. Found it here on Revain but was a little hesitant on some of the reviews but with free returns I took a chance. It worked exactly as expected and updated the maps as much as possible considering it was only until 2019 but well worth the money. We have a 2017 Toyota Camry SE.

The chip is easy to install and install as it should. Then the problem occurs when you try to enter an address. It will inform you that the location cannot be found and there is no voice response. It knows your location when you're driving, but doesn't accept the address you're supposed to be driving to. This is what happened with the 2014 Toyota Camray. Rather just go to the dealer and complain about the desired price. At least it will work and be the last.

Everyone wants a magic wand, preferably cheaper than this, but definitely cheaper than the dealer. The product I received was a 2019 card prepared for the 2020 market year and after carefully reading other reviews before purchasing I realized that it was exactly what I expected.
