5 GHz dropout after 2 weeks of operation

I bought this sucker because I'm a big fan of TP Link. I have been using their products for many years. When I received this router I really liked it. Easy to install, advanced features were nice. I use OOMA for my phone, I have dedicated servers set up, I use static MAC address routing etc. So I'm a bit savvy with networking. We have a few gaming consoles, several computers, tablets, phones, a few smart TVs, etc. I also have an OOMA for my home phone, as mentioned. So I have multiple devices…

Seems to be a great product

PRODUCT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY COMPANY. Purchase at your own risk. It seemed like a great product and reviews on Revain and online gave good recommendations. However, my experience was very different. The unit failed after only 3 months and after an agonizing customer service experience with multiple calls I finally got a refurbished unit (NOT brand new) which failed again after another 2 months. Warranty exchange is NOT customer friendly.

I've had it for a year and three months. He just died. Rebooted several times, checked all connections and power supply. Nothing. I received phone support from TP-Link after several attempts. Excellent signal strength, high speed and versatility.

The AC1900 is a solid mid-range option in the wireless market. It has many features that junior routers don't have (AC, signal conditioning, network repeat).
