Not compatible with TP-Link OneMesh

2.4 WiFi didn't reach as far as my old router. one since I usually had excellent performance from TPlink products. Originally purchased to use with OneMesh TPlink powerline adapter, PITA to update firmware to latest version, updated the powerline to beta firmware, still not working. Contacted support, they were helpful but couldn't offer a better solution than the one posted on the support forum. It's entirely possible that this was just an unfortunate incident, but not enough DOA to warrant an

Very easy to set up, excellent coverage

Got this to replace an old mesh system. I live in a 3,600 square foot house and wanted an all encompassing situation. I placed it on the second floor, almost right in the middle. It was easy to set up with the Tether app and I'm very happy with the speed. On a wired connection, I max out my connection at 800Mbps and get over 850Mbps on 3 different speed test sites. Wi-Fi gives me 100 Mbps to 270 Mbps on 5G throughout the house and over 60 Mbps throughout the house. huge house. To be clear, a…

Works in place of the crappy Spectrum router

Spectrum tells you what your new router will be. Do you decide how much bandwidth you need for your smart devices? Are your devices not connecting to one of the Smart Spectrum routers? Well, don't worry, this router really lets you choose between 2.4 and 5 so your devices can finally connect! Bought after Spectrum tech support was no help and everything was great and does everything I need.

  • Good stuff

Easy install, very good performance

It took me less than 15 minutes to get up and running with this router and it has better range and much faster speed than my old ASUS N900. For me an inexpensive solution with high performance. It is connected to a Motorola MB8611 cable modem and works great.

Pros
  • Nice packaging

User-friendly interface for network products

I recently installed a TP-Link router at home and I was very surprised how easy it is to set it up with a mobile application nearby or remotely over the internet and to control. Again, I was pleasantly surprised by some basic features, like nighttime light control or automatic restart in the middle of the night, or guest network pass-through (broadcasting from a device on the guest network to a device on the normal network). My previous routers from other brands lacked these much-needed…

Great for a very simple task

My ISP is CenturyLink Fiber, so I needed a router that operated as close as possible to the nominal speed of 940Mbps (actual speed, based on my signal strength, is closer to 850Mbps ). Although CenturyLink offers its own router, I wasn't impressed with its bulky ostrich egg look and wanted something a little more understated since the router's only function is to provide VLAN tags and PPPoE credentials. and stay solid in those roles only (Wi-Fi capability not included). This is because the…

Cons
  • So far so good

This review was written on the same day I received my Archer C80 router after the initial setup was complete. I compare it to the 5 year old Netgear D6400 DSL modem/router combo that it replaced. I've been in IT for a long time and have been building my own routers for about 15 years. This is my first TP-Link router, I have used Linksys, D-Link, ASUS and Netgear devices before (in no particular order). --- There were a few bumps in setting up the new router, some new features I didn't have…
