Not satisfied with the best in Computers & Accessories

I really wanted to love this router. I've heard a lot of good things about the brand and read a lot of good reviews. I got the router and have been using it for quite some time and I have to say I'm not impressed at all. I have to restart every week. Half the time I reboot it freezes on startup and I have to unplug and plug it back in, and about a quarter of the time I try to get into the UI it's unresponsive. I bought this router to increase signal strength but I have to say the thing stinks…

Really good for the price

I actually have 2 of these, one in my house and one in a separate workshop. The one in the house is used as a traditional home router and works great. The workshop hotspot is set up as a simple hotspot to extend the home network to the branch. Even after going through both, I can easily stream videos in high quality even to multiple devices. The web interface is very easy to use and I was able to set up both devices the way I wanted with minimal effort.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Good but not great

Next best tier would be AC2600

Wanted to "upgrade" an old Fios gateway using Linksys as WiFi with more devices (smart plugs/lights etc) and best range to remove from to cope with dilators. This works great for lines up to 100Mbps, but if you've got the cash for faster internet you might be able to spend more on another device with gigabit ports. The UI is a little slow, but it took me less time than the settings on Linksys and others I've used before. Make sure to update FW first (check hardware version) and update time.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Concise guide

Replaced the router because. new phone doesn't connect to old router

I had an old router, not too old, I could use it under the H standard, for some reason the ZTE cell phone that my sister had and I had couldn't connect to it. Also, the new routers work simultaneously on the B and N bands. The reason is that if you have an old device that wants to connect to the B band, the old routers will force all devices to connect to it at lower speed. This router works simultaneously on bands B and N. This feature is worth the extra money in my opinion.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Bought from Inspector Gadget 911 (updated)

This product was covered in scratches and did not include an AC adapter. It should look and work like new, and any defective parts should be replaced, including the power supply. I had a universal power supply that I used and it worked, but it doesn't look like it should from the description. The seller told me it was a factory repair and I could send it back for a refund. They said that only an internal update. It cannot be said to be updated if it does not match the description of the updated

Amazing speed increase

Bought to replace an ActionTek 802.11 b/g/n router as I cut the cable and needed some speed to watch HDTV over the internet. Before and after the Wi-Fi speed tests, this TP-Link AC1200 downloaded up to twice as fast, boosting my speed to 66 Mbps. Download speeds stayed the same - around 6 Mbps. When connected directly to the router via Ethernet, the speed was an impressive 90Mbps. Installation was easy by following the video instructions on the TP-Link website. Installed and started in 10…
