High quality cable and bracket.

Don't know if it's weatherproof as it installs through a hole in the roof of my car but it does the job. Excellent build quality.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

It was easy! suitable for portable audio and video devices

Installed yesterday. The process of making holes is always like crap shooting. But with a stepper bit that's no problem. Easy to install. Very long. and a rubber grommet is inserted into the screw frame. Intelligent design. Seems to be working fine. But these advantages/differences are probably related to the antenna. As it should be. High quality product at a great price.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Reliable

Great product, be careful not to damage it when installing.

. It took me 3 hours to remove the headliner and all possible internal parts to install 2 of these and when I did everything and started testing I found no reception. After running a few more tests, I didn't get continuity to the antenna sting. I had to lower the headliner back down and partially remove the bracket and I found a cold solder joint and the wire was disconnected from the connector. I resoldered and reinstalled and everything worked fine, then be careful when installing to avoid…

Great for my jeep dual band radio

Good quality cable overall. Lots of braid for shielding. There are no problems with the NMO connector. The factory soldering points make a solid impression. You can add some silicone for weather protection, but that's about it. I hooked this up to a Tram BR-180-B antenna and my Icom ID-5100. The SWR turned out to be pretty decent (1.4 to 1.7 or so) for a 2-door Wrangler that had the antenna mounted on the rear wheel mount.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not bad but...

The bottom isn't waterproof

While the brass washer has an o-ring, the soldered cable connection has a simple dust cap that isn't waterproof. On the dust cap I used gutter sealant otherwise the ladder, solder and brass base are constantly exposed to water. This is only an issue if you're using a lip mount or a corner mount where the underside is exposed to the elements. If the underside of your hood, cab, or trunk is wet, you're in big trouble.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • so far so good

Perfect fit for my ham radio setup

Perfect fit for my ham radio setup. Pretty straight forward work. The cable was long enough to run from the center of the roof of a 2014 Silverado, down the frame between the driver's side front and rear doors, forward along the floor panel, through the front and back to the center console where the radio is mounted with about 1' to spare. Total installation took about 5 minutes and didn't have to hold the part to thread. Also very happy with its performance. If you're happy with putting a…

Pros
  • Perfect fit for me
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for elderly
