I bought this bag for a trip to Tokyo starting April 15th and now a week later one of the zippers came loose, the zipper puller fell off and today the hardware secures the fallen apart shoulder strap to the bag. This bag was only used to carry things like a wallet, a guide book, some tissues and sometimes a bottle of water while traveling and walking around the city. Excellent bag. I sent back turquoise because I personally didn't like the color. It was more of a dark blue ocean than a blue-green turquoise. It was a beautiful color just not for my wardrobe. Got plain old black and it works great. Very spacious, a bit big for me for everyday use, but great for traveling. A thin cardigan, book or iPad mini, map, wallet, travel umbrella all fit in easily, leaving room for snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. My only complaint is the placement of a water bottle.

Overall I'm very happy with this bag. It had everything I needed for walking around Naples and the Amalfi Coast including a rolled up hat. And I'm not a light packer! The strap is quite thick and feels a bit uncomfortable until it snaps, which I think is due to the safety feature, so it's ok. I got this for a trip abroad to sort things out needed to carry for each day of sightseeing, including a small 11.5 inch laptop. Excellent bag. I bought this for my 13" laptop and it works great with it. The fit is almost perfect and it feels really solid. It has more than enough room for everything and the base is wide enough to stand on its own.
