Works as it should! for Exterior Accessories

If you own a Chevy 2500HD, you know that anyone under six feet tall can be considered disabled if they attempt to access the back of your truck! I wanted something practical and economical and it fit, so I bought it. It was easy to install, seems solid and well made, which actually surprised me because it's a very good price. The instructions are vague, but it doesn't require a rocket. Before I play backyard mechanic/engineer I would suggest the following: buy self tapping screws, the screws…

Grandpa's lifeguard

Based on some reviews I almost bought this item. Then I looked at the latest reviews and saw almost all 5 star reviews so I took a chance. Wow, that thing is great! It was easy to install on my GMC pickup. The only issue I had was the screws that attach the hardware to the tailgate. I followed the instructions for sizing the holes, but two of the screws stripped the threads when I started screwing them in. The metal in the tailgate was stronger than the cheap metal in the bolts. I simply…

Regular customer - not just like that!

I have had this ladder on other trucks. When my students asked about it on my F-150 FX4, I told them it was my "old master ladder". An hour later I saw them using it instead of jumping in the back of a truck. I installed it following the instructions on the left side of the back door. It worked fine but moved into the lane next to the truck. When I installed it on my Dodge 3/4 ton Big Horn Edition I placed it on the right side of the tailgate so it would face the pavement. I think it's safer. I

Not perfect but good product

WARNING. The instructions say to use a #5 or 9/64 inch bit. Do not use bit #5! do whatever. I ended up using bit #28, which is the actual equivalent of 9/64 of an inch. Pros - Quick and easy deployment. I could do it with a little finger and it worked pretty well, even on uneven ground. Easy to install. Better to stay away from the lawn It can rub against the bumper, scratch it I don't care but you might get bed upholstery marks Installation is more difficult if you screwed a plastic piece of…

Worthy is what it is.

Installed on my 2007 Ram 1500, harder to get out after lifting it. In general I like the design but it needs some work. The included screws seemed flimsy so I didn't even bother with them. I used four stainless steel hex head screws. The lower crossbar is very thin; This is the part that touches the ground. I added bumpers that I could attach to the existing holes in the bottom of the lower assembly - just needed a very long extension. This prevents scratches on the road. The included strap is…

Much more "thready " than I was hoping for!

1st update required. They now come with two different top bars, each containing a rubber bumper, but do NOT come assembled according to the instructions.2. It takes LOTS of measurements, checks with the tailgate open and closed, and trial and error with the mounting plate to ENSURE it and the last ladder DO NOT interfere with the tailgate closing and the steel cable holding your tailgate is not below the flat/level Position! And also. If you have a trunk lid, make sure the final assembly…

Good stairs once FEST!

After I REPAIRED everything, the ladder was a worthy investment of money ($42.53) and time (over 3 hours to install, repair and reinstall). I don't see how this could be a drilled liner - my Dodge RAM 3500 has a sprayed liner so the mounting plate can be properly positioned for flat support and clearance under the tonneau cover. I still had to move it at least 3 times and fill in the mis-drilled holes with black RTV. And what is not clear in the instructions is that for the correct "use” of the
