If you own a Chevy 2500HD, you know that anyone under six feet tall can be considered disabled if they attempt to access the back of your truck! The instructions are vague, but it doesn't require a rocket. Before I play backyard mechanic/engineer I would suggest the following: buy self tapping screws, the screws that came with the kit are junk, I had some self tapping screws in my "box with an island of mismatched screws". , so I used them. In addition to stopping rattles when the ladder is stowed, a couple of well-placed 1/2-inch clear rubber bumpers, you know, the kind you use for glass tops or closet drawers, will do the trick for where the ladder is hits the tailgate. Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it.
