Awesome little switch

This little switch is just what I need! If you've tried using gaming consoles through their wireless adapters, there's a lot you can do. In this case, I was far enough away from my 300Mbps Actiontec Wireless-N DSL Modem Router (GT784WN) that the wireless connection just wasn't acceptable, although everything within range was fantastic. I had several choices; buy a couple of powerline adapters (expensive, maybe they won't work in this house with old wiring, better not be the guy who accidentally

Loved it so much - I bought two

Ever since we gave up cable and internet we've noticed a growing need for ethernet ports. TRENDnet's TE100-S5 5-Port Ethernet Switch was just what we needed to increase the limited number of Ethernet ports out of the router. Our router is in our basement, and since I didn't want to run multiple ethernet cables through the floor for various uses upstairs, I bought one and routed a cable. Perfect and cheap. Best Networking Products

Less than $13 for more ethernet ports, amazing! So far, so good. 2 bought work perfectly. I didn't need a gigabit switch because my home network is only for internet access. I have several different rooms with web devices (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, TV) that need to be online to connect to the network. They ALL work much better with a wired connection than with Wi-Fi. If I had to build an intensive fast network between devices like my own servers, I would pay more for a gigabit switch. But not needed.
