Well made, reliable. The band is made from a thick latex tube and the hammer (at least as far as I can tell) is made from fiberglass reinforced ABS or PFE. I haven't tested it underwater yet, but after testing it in my aquarium, it will definitely seem true.

My wife wanted one. We are divers and she wanted to give me a signal. Does what it should and is as expected. I have a hearing loss from my military years so I can't hear him most of the time so he doesn't do his job. The product is ok, but not a good solution in my case.

I should write a long review about how stretchy it is or how the gong part makes a massive underwater gong that can be heard for miles or the color is so amazing in its grayish black. But it's actually tank fireworks that hit tanks when you hit them. So I got what I paid for.

Tank banner broke after a few uses. I had to open the metal pin with pliers and put it back together. When I buy scuba gear, I want it to work when it's needed. If you plan to only use this for a few dives this will probably work for you, but in the long run I would consider other options.

I expected it to explode and it was a real disappointment. Even when I pulled as hard as I could and ran it against the tank, it made almost no noise. I was expecting and barely hearing the sound, so the unsuspecting divers I was with couldn't hear it. The reason I got this was to be able to signal/catch the attention of other divers, which is not the case here.
