Works better than I expected!

I bought this product for an unfinished wood island in my kitchen. It was easy to apply and protects my wood very well. The wax quickly penetrates deep into the cracks in the wood and any liquid that gets on it collects in droplets. The top is very easy to keep clean. When purchasing this product, be sure to purchase flaxseed oil without beeswax. You will need it for care and treatment. After the first application of beeswax, the wax will not absorb it for some time, if at all. I am very happyโ€ฆ

I am impressed. Very silky natural wood finish

I have never used this product. Always used polyurethane but liked the concept. I tried it on recommendation and found that I really like the finish. It requires a bit more effort than PU as it requires multiple coats to get the best results. It doesn't seal wood as completely as polyurethane or other "cured" finishes, so I wouldn't be surprised if the occasional re-sealing is needed to keep the wood looking its best. But Tried & True Original gives the wood a smooth, silky feel, especiallyโ€ฆ

Wee bit go a long way!

Being new to wood repair I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was a pleasant surprise of simplicity and use. (1) Polymerized linseed oil with beeswax darkens your finish and adds depth. This is how it looks "wet". Photo on the left after applying a layer, on the right before it. I weathered and sanded the raw pine stain. (2) It is very smooth and soft to the touch, cure time is 24 hours (3) I was very concerned about how it would handle spills and clay up to 3/5 years old but so far

Great wood finish

I have used the tried and true Original wood finish on many projects over the years on a variety of woods. I've always had great results. T&T is very easy to use. I apply with a brush but I suspect a cloth or sponge applicator could be used. Because it contains beeswax, I have found that it spreads more easily in a warm room or outside on a warm day. You only need a thin layer, which you polish after drying. You can add as many levels as you like, but I've found that two or three is usuallyโ€ฆ
