2021 Tacoma Owners Beware

These are absolutely great 5/8" clutch pins, but they will not 'match' with the new 2021 Tacoma receivers on these new trucks. I have one on my 2008 Tacoma and my Kawasaki Mule, but it's not long enough to secure the new hitch. It appears to be a slightly thicker material and I had to order a 2 3/4" x 5/8" hitch pin to secure my hitch I still have the one I ordered but be aware that this 2 5/8" x 5/8" clutch pin will not fit Toyota's new clutch pins Texas tap ==== ===========================*

Terrible! This lock broke on first use.

The product is of poor quality. The locking mechanism broke on the second turn of the key. Turn on unlocks it. The second twist jammed it and the mechanism broke, leaving this piece of junk trapped in my receiver. I thought I would have to drill out the mechanism. The drill went into him like it was going through a piece of plastic. Using two pliers and moderate counter pressure, I broke it in two. It is made from very soft steel in China. I should have known You get what you pay for. Don't…

It's almost impossible to remove!

The product was great at first, but after a while it rusts and becomes almost impossible to remove. When I discovered this, I used a variety of lubes and rust removers every day for a month, flicking the wrench back and forth over and over again. I finally got it for free, but the hours and weeks of work on it were frustrating. The whole thing was corroded, so I soaked it in rust remover, sanded it with a spoke wheel, and oiled it. Now I shoot once a month, clean and oiled. It's a real pain…

Three Trimax locks, all nondescript.

I bought this specifically for use with our van. And I bought it primarily because the stylus is slightly better than your standard non-locking option. Also, my only hope for this castle was that honest people stay honest when they have moments of weakness. Now that we only camp 14-21 days a year I think this pin fits my needs and from that perspective I believe it's an economical choice. However, remember that a quick press with a small wall controller will engage the lock and release it with…

To "reliable " in a few years.

After reading the reviews I was a little worried about rust but I grew up with 30 year old farm equipment that could last another 30 years with basic care. So I made sure the rubber cap was in place and sealed. Once a year I added graphite (a dry powder for locks) and the mechanism worked fine for 3 midwest winters (started to see external rust after 1-2 years). After the 4th winter, the key could still be easily inserted and turned with movements. But the pin didn't come off. After 3 days of…

DO NOT buy this lock!

As a childless, widowed retiree, I've been trying for about a year to find someone who can remove this lock from my car. First, I learned that if you're right-handed, the end of the key should be on the right, not the left. More importantly, don't buy locks with this type of barrel key because, unlike a regular lock, you won't be able to get the key back into the lock once it's built up with road dust and dirt. I had a bumper lock. and lock on my '95 LandCruiser for twenty years and have never…

Pros
  • PU: 1 piece
Cons
  • Working speed

I've gone through three of them in the last few years and they all followed the same pattern. They work well at first, then they start to rust and eventually the locking mechanism gets stuck and won't open. The last one worked fine for the first season of use, although there were a couple of instances where the lock didn't work. want to disconnect when you try to unlock it. In these cases, the lock will jam and the key will not turn fully. Sometimes I had to tap or wiggle it lightly to unlock…
