Troxel Rebel Helmet Turquoise Medium Review

In my 50s I almost NEVER wore a helmet! We western riders just didn't grow up wearing helmets (they didn't, except for the English riders of the time). I also have a super safe horse. After riding without a helmet for 40 years, I moved my horse to a new stable and found out AFTERWARDS that they have a helmet rule. I found this helmet here so I got it. I am impressed. These are nothing more than old uncomfortable helmets. I forgot I had it!

The new range of western helmets from Troxel is amazing. Instead of a size adjustment knob on older helmets, it has an adjustable elastic strap for the back. Sits very securely, is light, breathes very well and has no vision or hearing problems. I usually hate helmets, but I can put this one on and forget it's a helmet. I'm starting to think I just had a baseball cap, it's so comfortable and light. If you have not liked Troxel helmets in the past, I recommend you give this one a try.

I returned this because the design image in the ad didn't match the design of the helmet. Overall the helmet itself is great and comfortable but make sure the design meets your expectations and don't believe the pictures! The ad had an image with a cross, horseshoe, and pink flowers as a theme and was called Dream Catcher, but the image actually had a theme called Rocker, which I wanted. I've had this helmet for about 9 months now and I love it! Until I accidentally drove my car in. Even after he was shot down. it's clearly damaged, but not as bad as I expected. I have already ordered an identical one. It's not the lightest/lowest helmet I've had, but it fits very well. My head is a bit oval so most crank helmets are still wide at the back on the sides of my head. This helmet is great as it conforms to your head from all angles. Bought this helmet for my 9 year old granddaughter. While riding in the arena, her horse was afraid of the rain hitting the metal roof. He stopped, but immediately pushed her away.
