The helmet did NOT have the new self locking buckle as advertised, it had an old style buckle. I was disappointed that it didn't have a new self-locking buckle. Otherwise the helmet arrived in perfect/new condition and as advertised. This is my second Troxel Sierra helmet and this model is much lighter than my old Sierra model. It fits as expected, follow the size chart for this helmet on the Troxel website.

My head size is 22 inches so I ordered one size smaller. It's very, very tight, I don't know if it's supposed to be that tight or not. So it's not very comfortable for my head, it causes a little headache, but I think if I take the medium size, it will be too big. I think overall I would recommend this helmet, I haven't had any crashes yet to test it lol hopefully never. But it's a good helmet! I love how it looks!

Many helmets are reluctant to fit them on their heads. Not this one. The fit of the back is adjusted by moving the two clamps forward or backward as needed. In addition, there is an opportunity to organize a tighter fit side by side. We riders know it's only a matter of time before we next get off our horses. The notion that "experts" are safe and will never fall has caused brain damage in several "experts". I only have one head and I want to protect it.

I am very pleased with the low profile look and fit and more Western style of this helmet. I've been using it for a few weeks now and my head doesn't get hot on long off-road rides and I don't feel like a giant "bubble head" when I wear it. I have to admit I had a hard time getting used to wearing a helmet as I mainly ride western sport horses but after many injuries of my own and serious head injuries from friends I have decided to keep a helmet on the trails and with my youngsters to wear on…

Great helmet, looks very nice and fits great. Don't make your head huge. However, I bought the same helmet elsewhere for a cheaper price and it's a newer version with a magnetic closure and a mesh cap with padded rims for a better fit. I need 3 of these and they were out of stock so I bought them here on Amazon. They didn't have an extra lid and are an older model without a magnetic closure at a much higher price. So Amazon makes up for the losses. Sell old goods at a higher price. Disappointed

I have been a fan of the Tipperary Sportage for years but decided to give this one a try after seeing friends who liked the look and trying it on. That's great! For a western rider like me it is flatter and slimmer than other helmets, light weight, very comfortable, offers more protection, looks more western, is very attractive and fits great.
