Much easier to fit this way

Of course you can buy a special tool to keep the slotted sprocket nuts from turning or you can be cheap like me and try to do it with a sawn off quarter side . The quarter fits perfectly but is difficult to hold in place even with locking pliers. These screws, secured on both sides with an Allen key, are a dream. I didn't pay attention, but in my opinion 7mm inside and 5mm outside. I love these nuts.

Nuts too long for single pinion

They are useless if you are replacing a 3 speed gearbox with a single pinion. The chainring must be adjusted to the center ring home position to keep the chain in the correct alignment, but in this configuration the nuts are too long and protrude through the chainring and crank making it impossible to tighten the bolt. They come with shims but are designed to correct the chainline when converting a 2x drivetrain to a single sprocket, not to compensate for long nuts.

can be easily removed and reused

If you've ever had to hand sharpen a couple of rounded and rusty chainring bolts, this is the answer to solve your problems. A little grease on the sprocket holes and you're good to install. They come at a higher price point than standard sprocket bolts, but if you're servicing your own bike, these sprocket bolts are worth buying. I wouldn't risk reusing sprocket bolts, sometimes even steel rounds. However, they can be easily removed, reused, and tightened without a dedicated pinion wrench.

All other sprocket bolt designs are defective

The fact that so many sprocket bolts require a useless flat bolt tool that is almost impossible to hold in place under torque is a severe indictment on the skill of many cyclists. Technician. Truvativ's design clearly shows how incompetent the makers of these absurd alternatives are. If your bike has these other bolts, do yourself a favor and replace them with Truvativ bolts (that is, as soon as you manage to loosen them, since the slots are almost certainly partially removed during theโ€ฆ

Good looking and much easier to use than regular sprocket bolt kits.

I bought some new Shimano cranks with torx sprocket bolts which I didn't like and needed a sprocket wrench which I don't like either. These Truvativ sprocket bolts use a 5mm hex on the bolt and a 6mm hex on the nut, making installing and tightening these bolts less of a hassle. The bolt is steel and the nut is aluminum, so it is important to tighten these bolts carefully to avoid damaging the aluminum nut. I started with 8Nm and will test it when I drive a few more kilometers. If there are anyโ€ฆ

Shiny chainring design

Shiny design. The ability to use two different socket wrenches for tightening and loosening is much better than the Shimano design. There is no slip and I don't have to worry about warping or rounding the edges of the special tool required for other types of sprocket hardware. And they come with spacers. So if you do a 3x to 1x conversion, you should be able to sort everything with ease. For anyone interested, I converted my 2008 Specialized Rockhopper from 3x to 1x. This is Shimano M341โ€ฆ

Truvativ is a great brand, great quality, value for money

These sprocket bolts are very good value for money, well worth it and the thickness of these sprocket bolts is absolutely flawless unlike some other cheaper sprocket bolts market, these bolts are about 1000% better because i bought a cheaper pair at a lower price compared to some of the cheaper sprocket bolts plus adapter nuts on the market which seemed amazing when i bought it but then when i got those "cheaper sprocket bolts and adapter nuts" were inferior and the finish was pretty poorโ€ฆ
