Lovely comfortable first official pair of English riding boots for our 13 year old. Coped well with the lessons and didn't get her calves pinched between the saddle like her old boots did (they were Tough Rider calf boots. She's outgrown them physically and in ability). The boots fit her calves perfectly, didn't need to be stretched and she has pretty decent calf muscles. Very happy with looks and quality. Very good quality boots for the price, the only downside is that I ordered us a size 8 which, as indicated in the table, corresponds to my measurements. Kalb then had to try to figure out if I should order 8W or 9? I couldn't find anything that says the weather is wide foot or wide calf. So if there is some clarification it might be really helpful for someone else, but overall very good boots, my horse and I even won 1st place. Place !

Waited a few times to check, decent boots for the price. I usually wear a size 7.5 but ordered they fit my calf and ankle well but I have too much room around my right foot. The thick socks and insoles helped stabilize my feet. I think if I had ordered my normal size the ankle piece would have been too tight and restricted my movement in the stirrups. I love these boots! Now remember that I'm a beginner so my opinion may not carry much weight. At the same time I first rode horses (in class), I did it in hiking boots. So I used to have Tuffrider Belmont Field Boots which lasted about a year and a half but I have them abused by using them as fertilizer and not tending them regularly so they could probably last longer. I will compare women's beginner boots to these as they looked similar, I was hoping for something similar to my old boots. In the beginning my old boots were real leather and these new boots were synthetic, I knew that and expected a difference in quality, but I definitely prefer real leather…
