Neither of these machines will work with shaggy or bulky yarns, but will easily handle smooth DK or lighter yarns. I already had another manufacturer's brand i-cord (purple) and wanted to know if this one had a better design as I plan to make a lot of i-cords. It really is the best tool! I've found I can use thicker yarns - from light fingering to (smooth) worsted/aran yarn; easier to start; weight is easier to lift while working; I can put it in the middle of a project and it will stand up; and keep its more comfortable shape. I have EmbellishKnit (purple, similar to many others here except mine is branded). It works great with yarn up to and including #3 but has issues with #4. I found reviews saying this item would work for #4 so I bought it. And I can't get it to work with this yarn count.
