Absolutely fantastic preamp. The sound is warm and rich. I upgraded the tubes like the others and it's even better. I highly recommend this product.

Sharp midrange sharpness. I changed the tubes and it helped. Very colorful sound, like a jukebox from the 70s. Sounds good if that's what you're looking for.

I mean I was a bit skeptical at first but this thing is amazing. It works out. Works well with my Pro-Ject Carbon DC and in a small form factor. I changed the tubes and that changed the sound quality a bit. I recommend especially at this price.

This little hybrid tube preamp was just what I needed to spice up my vinyl collection. Albums processed at half speed really shine with this preamp. I hooked it up to a 50 watt hybrid tube amp to get that vintage tube tone. This audiophile is smiling! Thanks for a great article!

Stopped working after only 3 months. Bought the device as an interface between a vintage turntable and a Bluetooth speaker (via 1/8" audio input). When working, the sound was great. Too bad it didn't die. Update: Working again, no idea why. I will continue to use it as the return window is closed.

Ordered this for my new turntable. I didn't hesitate to order the 5654 kit to go with them and they REALLY make a difference. I played a song on the original tubes, then immediately played the same song on the 5654 and heard a noticeable warmth with the replacement. Great little pre bang for your buck!

I bought this because it offers the flexibility of adjustable gain to couple with different MM pickups as well as the ability to produce sound with a choice of different tubes (twisting tubes). I am using this as the phono stage from my Technics turntable with a very high quality stylus. Then it goes to an 11 band stereo EQ and then to my 250w Samson studio amp. (Tried with class D amp and tube AB amp). Speakers by Sansui (it's just amazing). I'm trying them out (I use them for prototyping or dummy loads) but for this module I need a basis for comparison.
