Bought by mistake. Wrong year so they are for the M56 engine and slightly larger than the M54. In any case, they appear to be high quality intake manifolds. Personally, I would clean them with rubber polish prior to installation, but it's not necessary. If they were the right replacement part I would trust them to last longer than you probably own a car.

I ordered this item to replace my own intake hoses on my BMW ZHP. The hoses were soft rubber when they arrived in the box, so tightly wrapped and taped that they were all seriously deformed. Getting the bottom hoses onto the flanges required some fiddling and a 15 minute job turned into a full day of work.
