This thing can catch weak Wi-Fi and make it your own

I use this in RV's to connect to weak WIFI hotspots. I can connect and stay connected to a Wi-Fi connection that hardly registers on my devices without it. I use it to set it up as a "Station" and then bind it to the desired WIFI hotspot I'm trying to use in that location. Once connected, I just plug this device into my default router's "Internet Page" and whoops! My entire motorhome now has its own network and I don't have to reconfigure all my other devices.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • No form required

Setting up a 300 foot radio bridge is pretty easy with two of them.

Works great as a wireless bridge. Use two of these to send data over 300 feet. Internet speed is practically not lost. Very easy to set up after watching a few YouTube videos with crosstalk solutions. They have a default IP of 192.168.1.20 and my internet is set to 10.1.10.xx so I had to manually change the computer's IP and connect to the computer instead of the router itself, so that was my only minor complication. Your tech support did a great job and answered some basic questions for me…

They work and are inexpensive

I've been in relationships for decades. We sell and install wireless equipment from wireless to commercial microwave and laser tower systems. If you have a critical application that requires high security and high throughput for commercial, government, or military applications, look elsewhere. If you're a small business or a consumer looking for affordable wireless, this is a great choice. Unfortunately they can last 2 months or 5 years, you never know, but most of them seem to last 2-3 years…

Works perfectly! on network products

I needed to connect my home WiFi to a detached garage. I tried using a WiFi dongle on a long USB cable that I placed in a window overlooking my house and it worked, but only for my laptop. I really wanted to have a separate Wi-Fi network for all my devices when I was in the garage. I used the Ubiquiti product and it worked great. After setting it up to block my home network, I connected it to another router's LAN port in my garage and now I have a separate WiFi in my garage and all my devices…

  • Stylish and modern design

Use it in a camper/RV

I use this little router to connect to my wireless network at campsites/parks. This works great because you can connect directly to a specific access point and not be distracted by roaming (which is a major cause of unreliable connections in those locations). Good product. A reminder that signal quality depends on both sides. Don't expect to use this "long range" antenna to connect to a regular access point 100 meters away, as the access point needs to receive the signal back.

  • Long range
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Sadly Disappointed - Wireless Hotspots

I'm a big fan of Ubiquiti in general and have replaced almost everything on my network with their gear. However, although this product claims to be PoE, it does not comply with IEEE standards, so it is actually a fake PoE. Even Ubiquiti's own Unifi PoE switches don't power it. This product MUST be powered by the supplied 24V injector which is very unfortunate. Why does anyone care about non-standard PoE these days? To make matters worse, this version of the product only has one port, but the…

  • Almost everything is there

Works well good software good value for money

I completed the installation this weekend using some of these devices as internet extenders in a large suburban area and so far very happy with the Nanostations. Works well, reliable stable line of sight as expected. The two blocks are outdoors under the eaves, so we'll see how they hold up over time. The management software in particular is good - lots of configuration options. In the setup I did, the nanostations basically act like a very long ethernet cable and there are some good videos on…
