Does not work with Raspberry Pi 4

I'll update this review if I ever get it working. I bought it to use with Raspberry Pi 4 with Raspbian Buster. It had great reviews so I figured it would work right away. I was wrong. No matter what I try, it won't work. I get a "No Signal" window in the middle of the screen. The description states that it works on Raspberry Pi 4 without additional drivers. This couldn't be further from the truth. I've tried everything I can think of (and lots of suggestions online). Nothing seems to work. I…

Great monitor: my review

Great monitor to use with Pi. My package was missing a power cable. Contacted UCtronics. They responded quickly and sent me a new cable. Happy customer!

Great when it works

It worked for me several times, but only with the mouse, the touchscreen does not respond. At boot it only works for a while, basically just a blue "no input" box, when I disable it, enable it again, it lights up. Not very useful since I want to mount it in a project

Incorrect resolution setting

There is no proper documentation for this display. When you connect it to the Raspberry Pi 4b, the resolution is 1920 x 1080 and scaled to fit the display. All the documentation on the uctronics github page says the display is 1024 x 768 and the said documentation fails to properly set the display resolution. The touchscreen always turns off about 4 centimeters below where you touch it with your finger.

Nice display but a few bad features

I'm building a head unit for a car using a Raspberry Pi computer. I didn't like that the display at startup was a blue screen with the Uctronics logo. There is no way to turn this off. The second thing I didn't like was that the 3 cables - HDMI, touchscreen and power cable - all come out the side of the display instead of the back. In the end, I settled on the Ingcool display. Ingcool doesn't have a home screen and cables don't attach to the edge of the card. Uctronics picture quality was good,

HD screen 1920x1080p

I have this screen in my PC case as a PC stats/performance monitor and so far so good. The resolution is excellent, and it's the only 7-inch screen I've been able to find with an HDMI port on the horizontal side. The only downside I have is that the micro USB port that powers the screen isn't on the horizontal side and the light comes out at the edge of one of the sides of the screen.

What are the drawbacks of UCTRONICS Raspberry 1024×600 Capacitive Touchscreen 7", Portable, HDMI, HD?
  • Hard to say

I have this to run the Aida64 touchpad and it's a great screen for it. My only complaint is that the power/touch USB ports are flush with the side. The HDMI port is a few millimeters off the top, and with the included 180-degree adapter I can't see the HDMI cable, but the power supply is always visible unless you want to re-solder the connector.

Big no, we'll be back

No stand was included, the acrylic frame is ridiculously flimsy. The device connects via USB, which ultimately destroys your devices.

Nice little screen - my new review

Nice little screen. Crisp resolution with low frame ghosting. In the end I decided to return it because it was too small for my project.

Not built to last. in my view

I bought this to switch between several Raspberry PIs that usually work headless. Worked fine for about a month and a half and then stopped. Upon closer inspection, the ribbon cable connecting the circuit board to the IPS panel broke simply from the stress involved every now and then. It does a hard 180 degree twist to connect the board, which isn't great for this type of ribbon cable. It also doesn't have voltage protection on the side of the board (it's glued to the back, not the front. This…

Perfect for my use case.

Does exactly what I bought it for. Good price. The touch function worked well in my testing, but I had no intention of using it. Clarity and brightness are perfectly acceptable for my use case, but when you want to game for some ridiculous reason, the picture is a bit washed out and the pixel density isn't high enough for comfortable mobile projects.

Works on Pi 4 according to my review.

Works as advertised, no issues on my Pi 4. There are no dead pixels on the screen and it looks very good for my application. The only criticism is the supplied HDMI cable. It's too fragile and already broken. Buy an HDMI micro cable with fewer materials if you intend to use it frequently.

Pi 3 B+, works out of the box but customer service is top notch

I like that the HDMI connector has the correct polarity for connecting directly to the Pi3 board. The resolution works with the existing default settings in the operating system and the performance is good. Clean desktop picture and very bright. Now for the bad news. I was trying to figure out how to change the brightness of the display. I looked for technical papers, no. I was looking for a video about it, I didn't find it. I contacted their support via live chat, he said to give him a phone…

Nice screen, especially for the price.

Good screen for versatile projects. It doesn't depend on Pi. Touch is decent. Feels like quality too. Color from the packaging is ok. Some tweaking is needed, but the default setting on my desktop is 1920x1080. Not bad, especially for the price.
