Disappointing Quality in Industrial Woodworking Clamps

Based on my observations, the Ulmia Miter Clamp Set Wooden doesn't quite live up to its Industrial and Scientific category rating. These clamps don't hold the wood securely, leading to frustrating slips, which has resulted in wasted material and lost time. The only positive is their appearance and nostalgic appeal. If you need clamps that actually work, steer clear of this set.

Pros
  • Easy to use and adjust for various sizes of wood.
Cons
  • Requires more maintenance than plastic or metal clamps due to the nature of the wooden material.

Easy to use. Quickly. And they work

I really like how these clamps tighten the bevels. I used this in a house we are trimming for crown molding and baseboards. They work really well. The price is a bit overpriced in my opinion, hence only 4 stars.

Pros
  • hand tool
Cons
  • weak

Stronger Than You Think

We recently used these to fasten a long vertical grain mahogany and cedar dovetail and they work great. The bottom line is of course that they apply a clamping force perpendicular to the surface to be bonded. The good thing is that the thickness of the different sizes overlaps slightly, so you can often double the number of clips available. There are some tricks to using them with blocks and guard strips if you don't want the little bite marks they leave behind.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled
