The batteries are replaced by unscrewing the top. Easy,. Unfortunately because of this the light itself has a tendency to come unscrewed and detach while just bouncing around in in my pocket. This is a handy little light that is bright as advertised. It also comes with two additional sets of replacement batteries. The light is simple, just a quick twist on. I like it a lot as I use it at night as a security guard to unlock combination locks at nighttime.

And the reviews on the ones with lights were not good. So i decideded to make my own. But i needed a very tiny tiny light and this is perfect. The light was bright and impressive for being so small. The light is really tiny and light weight. I liked having this being so small on my keychain. Once we got these teeny flashlights assembled, they were awesome. But beware - it's really hard to get the teeny-weeny chains to fit together. You need good lighting, a magnifying glass, and surgeon-steady hands. Good luck.

The on and off "switch" is just a barrel that unscrews. Take care not to unscrew too far or the top and bottom will separate and the batteries may get lost. Unscrew till it's off, then a little more to prevent accidental lighting in your pocket with incidental battery wear, and it gives great service.

I wanted a small and bright flashlight to see when I get up in the dark to avoid obstacles - like sleeping dogs on the floor. This is very small and perfect for what I needed. I'm very, very happy with it. Order extra batteries while you're at it. I haven't used up the ones it came with yet, and they gave me free ones. But, I know they will run out eventually cuz I use it every night.
