Tears easily good for dogs

When I first took this tie out it took a 45 pound dog a week to bend the clasp to the point of impossibility. I got a replacement and two days later the cat is just out of reach and the clasp is bent again. The rope itself is fine, but the clasps are made of very flexible materials. There will be no replacement for me this time. Luckily the dog came back and the cat left.

  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Little things

Not chew resistant but otherwise great

This rope had a medium stretch. It's softer than wire or plastic ties and when my pup wraps it around my leg it doesn't scratch or cut me. The rope is also quite thick, but if your dog likes to chew, it will break sooner or later. My pup tore it up in a month and she only does it about an hour a day.

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Repair

Pulling force does not apply to devices

We needed a zip tie that was not a conventional cable that buckled, twisted and rusted easily. The rope part is great. Strong, durable, reliable, with no kinks and kinks. However, the fasteners used on the ends are not strong at all and both broke within a week. Our little rottweiler broke the clasp completely and our Aussie bent both ends of his rope just enough to free himself. Disappointed because the rope construction is great but the hardware didn't hold up. We replaced both ends withโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

This is by far the best wire I have used. I tethered two dogs with separate 20-foot heavy-duty dog ties attached to a single 75-foot steel pendant cable. I used to use 20 foot steel cables and they quickly twisted and buckled and couldn't be used. Rope leashes will twist, but dogs have learned to untwist them themselves, and rope doesn't need a set. But the big thing: The fasteners at the ends of the straps are not strong enough. I have a 50lb Pitbull and a 45lb Vizsla Lab mix and both managedโ€ฆ

Cheap clasp NOT ON THE DOG FIRST OUT OF THE ROPE

Broken leashes, torn sheaths and rusty wire. It's been working great for me so far and I'm so happy with it that I've ordered a second one. I'm glad I took the extra time to look for the first few dozen items recommended by Revain when I searched "outdoor dog chains". Will update the review if I run into any problems. UPDATE: My dog is light and doesn't usually pull or fall, so everything went great. To this day the dog tried to run after the squirrel and the poor quality clasp/clip/hook fellโ€ฆ
