Product description is misleading. This isn't "stain and glaze" rolled into one. This is a water based liquid paint that becomes very chalky when dry. Had to update my review as I've mixed it and used it on many different projects. Since I wrote my review below, I bought it in all colors. It mixes so well with water and water-based mediums that it goes with almost anything. It really isn't "icing on the cake". You need to buy a separate glaze. But I use it on glass, metal, paper and clay - I mix colors and get great olive green, teal, mahogany, you name it. And I like the matte finish so it's perfect. This is more of a chalk finger paint than a stain or glaze unless you are referring to a pre-fired ceramic glaze.
