Fantastic sensitivity!

Was a dedicated V1 user years ago. Bought to have more information on who is using the radar in my area and have been using the unit for about 3 weeks. I was recently driving around New England and was able to tell which ones were using LEO Radar and who had just parked. The device was so sensitive that it worked long before we could see them. I recommend checking out the VortexRadar website as it has a ton of useful information since you'll need to spend a little time setting it up. After…

Cons

Works and works well! Worth the investment!

I'm still getting used to interpreting the signals. I'm getting warnings from miles away, wondering at first if it's worth the noise and doubting its accuracy, but now I have no doubts. I've learned that the intensity of alerts correlates with proximity/strength, and I can see them getting stronger and stronger the closer I get to a location. I drive US and state highways that pass through small towns on a weekly basis, so it's not uncommon for an officer to disappear when I finally get where…

Pros
  • Car accessories
Cons
  • Some defects

O your god! This thing is the beast!

I haven't had a Radar Detector in ten or two years. I asked a friend if he has one or if he knows a good one these days. It's not him, it's his friend! He told me it was Uniden R3. So I bought one after deciding between it or the Radenso XP. This comes from the Cobra 6 band and looks like something out of Star Trek! His reach is insane! This will give you quarter mile by mile notification! Sometimes I don't even see a cop, the range is so wide. Plenty of time to slow down when you have the lead

Pros
  • Radar Detector

  • Nothing

It paid off right away on the first ride. :)

The sucker is so-so. Had to reapply from time to time while driving. Mounted low, it's constantly triggered by my adaptive cruise control, which of course is a small radar mounted behind the grille. Mounting it high on the windshield fixed it. Ka-band warnings have an incredible range - so wide that I thought the random chirps were false warnings. Well it wasn't, it was the county sheriff MUCH ahead of us who turned around at the state line and managed to get me back on track. But given the…
