Tried four days to connect and get working NMEA functions. Directions are worse than useless, they're not doable, and you'll spend the rest of your life trying to figure them out. Trying to connect a Garmin device that only has two wires is no problem, think again.

Poor workmanship. Before I could install it, the wearable clip fell apart. Looks glued together. Update: I started a return and 2 days later I replaced the exact same unit, model UM435BK, exactly the same problem. The button on the back of the controller broke before I could install it on the boat. Return both blocks for return. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for a quality device. Production is seriously lacking.

Bought 5 of these for my fleet of tugs. 4 stars out of 5 because 4 out of 5 radios last more than a few months. All but one work great. After 2 months, the speaker sometimes worked, and then by mistake it didn't work at all. The other 4 had no problems at all. Maybe a defect or something loose inside. We have to send it back. I wasn't going to buy this unit based on other reviews but the price was worth a try and Revain have a great return policy if it doesn't work. Arrived quickly. I installed it and it worked great the first time. On the way back from fishing the wind picked up and got a bit sporty for my 16ft boat and when I came back I was pretty wet. The following weekend I turned it on and got the first beep it made when turned on. All day on the boat he never received a phone call or triple scan weather info. Considered not accepted. I used my Cobra VHF handheld that I had used before and tried to see if it would send or receive calls but it didn't.
