Great tool for packing, not for the shop

This shouldn't be your main tape tool, there are a lot better ones out there. However, it is a great batch tool. Mine weighs 17g which is respectable. I have several parts on my bikes that now use a locking ring as well, including the top cap on the OneUp EDC setup.

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great if there was no gap between my MTB XD cassette and MTB frame

Great product if it would work with my MTB XD cassette. The problem is that the metal is too thin so it can slide under pressure when you turn the wheel to release the cassette. This problem could be solved if there were a thicker metal filler in this gap. In addition, the teeth should be longer. I see no reason why the tool's teeth should be so fine, it just makes it slide more. You can also just add a washer to the tool like I'm going to do to solve this problem.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Saves a trip to the store

This replaces the 3 tools required to remove the cassette, which normally requires a cassette retaining ring tool, chain whip and an 18" wrench. tool required. Just slide it into the cassette lock ring, put the chain on the cassette and put the wheel back into the frame. This locks the cassette retaining ring so that as you turn the cranks, the freehub rotates and unthreads from the retaining ring. an inexpensive alternative for do-it-yourselfers and an alternative to the Stein Cassetteโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good

Didn't work for me at all

I read a lot of good reviews about this product on bike forums and various sales sites, so I was very happy to buy and try it. I had a loan from a non-Revain supplier so I put it on this tool. Bottom line, I just damaged the instrument and threw my back out. The teeth on this thing are too small to fit snugly in the cassette's groove and the metal is too thin to fill the space between the cassette and my frame. So when I tried to pedal and let go of the cassette, the instrument slipped out ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
