Too small for '03 Dodge Caravan - swivel tip not in box

I replaced both CV axles and control arms on my Caravan and thought this tool would be perfect for removing the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. This tool was way too small to even come close to working (needed at least another inch of spread). Plus the swivel tip was missing from the box upon opening. Maybe I received a used one or maybe someone at the factory forgot to include the swivel tip.it happens.I'm not sure if this tool is large enough to work on anything other than a small car…

Pros
  • worked for what intended
Cons
  • The separator may damage the tie rod end if not used properly

Tool was previously used

It was obvious that this was a used tool, not new. It had dirty grease caked all over it and the threaded rod was loose in the housing. Also, the forked end had rubber and grease embedded in it from previous contact with a tie-rod boot. Returned to Revain for a full refund.

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • The tool may not have enough leverage to remove stubborn tie rod ends

Works as advertised

As stated, it will remove tie rod ends with no damage. I also used it to remove a very stubborn wiper blade arm with no damage. Very useful!

Pros
  • Used it to pop out a tie rod end on my Camry. Worked just fine
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use if you have limited experience working with automotive tools

On the small side, but great when it fits.

This was too small to use on an '87 F150, but worked great on my '93 Pathfinder. The swivel bit is a little fiddly, so make sure you've got the bottom of this thing seated right so the swivel doesn't kick out sideways. When it's all lined up, it works pretty well, and allowed me to change my centerlink without screwing up my tie rod ends.

Pros
  • Great for small Cars
Cons
  • May take longer to complete the job compared to other tools

Excellent product if you do this type of work

Slips right on and pulls right off. Sure beats having to use a bigger hammer. Tie rods almost fall off when they see this thing.

Pros
  • ‎Taiwan
Cons
  • May require the use of additional tools, such as pliers or wrenches, to complete the job

Works every time, with no damage to dust boots.

Exactly the tool i needed. Worked on low clearance TRE without tearing up the boot. Was installing new rod ends anyways but this made removal of the old ones a simple step.

Pros
  • Awesome tool. Just the right tool for the job
Cons
  • Can be more expensive compared to other tie rod removal tools

Worked like a charm

I bought this to allow me to replace the tie rods and upper ball joints on a Mercedes-Benz. Worked like a charm! The tool is well designed and never once did I suspect that it would fail on me in the middle of a project. It's a welcomed addition to my toolbox.

Pros
  • ‎Blend
Cons
  • The separator may break if used on larger, heavy-duty vehicles

Perfect tool for limited spaces

A lot of front drive cars, as well as some Porsche models, have very limited space to access the tie rod ends. This tool can get in there and separate the tie rod ends without damaging the rubber boots. Both a time and money saver.

Pros
  • Nicely compact and sturdy
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all types of tie rod ends
